A Taste of Italy in Mill Valley

n 1980, two brothers from the Calabria region in southern Italy moved to Marin County with dreams of opening their own traditional trattoria. That dream came true a year later when Domenico and Paolo Petrone opened Piazza D’Angelo.

Named after the restaurant’s location right on the piazza of downtown Mill Valley, Piazza D’Angelo is an ode to the traditional trattorias found throughout Italy. Trattorias are family owned, casual, rustic neighborhood restaurants that serve fresh, unassuming, conventional local food.

With a bustling bar scene, and a natural light-soaked dining room, Piazza D’Angelo evokes a traditional trattoria dining experience with a unique sense of home comfort. Enjoy a variety of fresh pastas, wood-fired pizzas, antipasti, as well as fresh fish, prime meats and our signature tiramisu!

Quality and value are at the heart of the Piazza D’Angelo experience. We focus on sourcing the freshest ingredients from the Bay Area’s wealth of resources. The result is simple and expertly crafted Italian dishes that reflect our Calabrian roots and down-to-earth personality.

Today, the family tradition continues as Domenico’s daughter, Felicia, and Paolo’s son, Luigi, carry on to serve the community of Mill Valley.
